Countdown to 2012

All aboard! Get set! 2012 here we come! (God willing of course)

It seems like we are on board of a speeding train (life) that passes by huge signs declaring the years that we pass by. It feels like we are passing by the days, months and years extremely fast, doesn’t it! I look at my kids, and I see “time” in them. My oldest is taller than me now! When did that happen! I look at myself, and I wonder if those wrinkles under my eyes actually belong to me! I look at my siblings, acting like the “adults” whom we thought were weird as we were growing up. I look at my parents, and I see how fragile they have become!

With Each passing year, not only do we grow physically but we also grow intellectually through our experiences. Whether they were planned or acquired through chance, whether they were positive or negative, those experiences become a part of who we are. With each lesson learned, we become stronger and more confident to deal with the next.

The year of 2011 is about to become part of our past through which we have gained several experiences and accomplished some goals. We will carry that with us and apply that knowledge to make 2012 better. We will also be ready to gain new experiences and grow intellectually on this road of self-discovery.

I was offered a totally new experience in 2011- Blogging. It was not a goal or even an idea back in Jan. of 2011. However, it became a life changing reality in September of 2011. I am thankful to be given the opportunity of doing what I love and sharing it with others. I am still learning the ins and outs of this amazing new “job”, and I am enjoying it every step of the way.

I am proud of my progress so far as I have written a number of informative posts that explain the Basics of Design. My personal favorites are Creative Arts part 1 and 2, How to arrange tabletop accessories and  Test Your Furniture Arrangement part 1. I am also trying my hand at some home  projects such as my Mudroom Makeover. I am extremely proud of my new blog design which was a huge challenge for me. But, I did it!

I have accomplished a lot in just a few months, and I look forward to even more in the year ahead. I am especially thankful for you, my readers, for your support and encouragement which keep me going. Thank you and Happy New Year

P.S. On this last day of 2011, I was able to feed and touch a dolphin. What an Amazing experience!!!
