The Great Outdoors

These warm hot summer days are tempting me to try to design outdoor spaces. For some reason, I don’t feel comfortable working with the outdoors ! Maybe it is because I don’t feel I can control the design elements of the outdoors like I can in the indoors. For example, the enclosed feature of indoor spaces make them manageable because I can easily choose colors, control lighting and temperature.

A sunroom is as close as I get to the outdoors. See , I am still in control here!
Peace

But,  Olioboard had to have a challenge this week!! “Wayfair is challenging the olioboard community  to design an ultimate outdoor living space using at least 3 items from Wayfair collection.”

Can I do it?

I gave it a try,

This is my entry……

The Great OutdoorsThe location of this backyard retreat is a gorgeous villa in Tuscany, Italy. The arches, walls covered with climbing plants, and stone tile form the backdrop for this outdoor design. Two shaded seating arrangements provide space for lounging and entertaining. Potted flowers add color and excitement. Floor lanterns enhance the mood and add drama. Finally, a blue, yellow, and green color scheme reflect a happy and cheerful outdoor setting.

I know what you must be thinking now; Lama, this space is still enclosed!!

Well, people who know me know that I like to take things slow. One step at a time. I guess the next step would be completely outside.

So, what do you think of my outdoor living space design? Could you apply it to your own backyard?
