Color Psychology: Decorating with Yellow
Welcome back friends! It is time again for my weekly series “Decorating with Color” where I explore decorating with a specific color each week. After a brief introduction to the effects of that color on us, I share inspirational examples of harmonious color schemes that could be used to decorate with that color. So far,I have explored decorating with Black, Green, Violet, Blue, and Orange. Today I will be exploring decorating with Yellow.
Color psychology of Yellow
Yellow is the color of the sun, so it evokes feelings of warmth, excitement, energy, life, happiness, and optimism.
Stimulates the mind, encourages creativity , and improves memory.
Too much yellow can trigger anxiety.
Yellow would be perfect in rooms that don’t get much sunshine such as hallways, mudrooms, basements, powder rooms {see my mudroom.} It can also be a great choice in kitchens and offices.
